Christmas Love at Preschool

On December 21st, Dan and I had the opportunity to watch our sweet little 'Drew Bear' perform at his preschool Christmas program. The program was wonderful and my face actually hurt from smiling so much. The kids were so precious and it felt incredible to sit in the parents' seats watching our first born child look nervous, excited and super-talented all at the same time:) I was so proud of him. As he sang the words to each song, I just wanted to reach out to hug him. Super tight. To tell him how proud I was of him. To tell him how happy he has made me. To squeeze him so tight that surely all of my positive feelings of love and pride would immediately be absorbed into his body so that he would know it, he would feel it and never doubt how wonderfully special he is. But to avoid embarrassing Drew (and myself), I sat quietly whispering a silent prayer thanking God for this most wonderfully precious gift that was singing his little heart out right in front of me.

Drew had a great following at his performance. Dan and I were happy to have Grandma Darlene, Grandpa Bob and Aunt Kookin' (Aunt Karen) join us for the concert. Drew had fun showing off his classroom to all of us.

Merry Christmas to Drew's wonderful preschool teacher!

The art projects that his class made this year are incredible. The kids made Christmas gifts for the parents which included handmade wrapping paper. We got a potholder with Drew's name written on front (in his handwriting of course, which makes my heart swell) and a beautiful Christmas card presented below. These gifts rank high on my list of favorites.
